OverviewThe Hydraulic Side Covers was one of the first parts in the FF product line. We took away all the ‘fat’ of the standard aftermarket side cover and left the function. The true art of any mechanical part is the function. The parts that make it happen, that do the work and yield the results. We sucked the side cover up to the bearing door as much as possible by utilizing aerospace derived hydraulic ball plugs, that enabled the bleeder screw and feed line ports to be right next to the gasket surface. We even put the conventional transmission dipstick on a diet. Knowing what’s it like to be on the end of that wrench, hustling to get that bike done, ‘just right’ we tooled up these covers to offer either front or rear banjo fitting ports. Smashed out of virgin aluminum stock, just down I-94 in greater Chicago, these side covers are forged on 1500 ton presses with a beautiful one hit die. The result is the tidiest design possible, yielding the strength necessary to get the job done, and a smooth surface finish to match.Features

Technical
- Forged 6061 Side Covers tuck tighter to the transmission than the stock cable style side covers
- Compactly designed and packaged dipstick sneaks into the side cover assembly. Yields the standard functionality, while maintaining as small as footprint as possible
- Compact and versatile hydraulic line routing enabling the 3/8-24 banjo fitting to be on the front or rear of the transmission
- Utilizes the stock mechanical center rod assembly. Enabling the adjustment you want at the clutch lever, as well as being compatible with all types of clutch available on the market
- Steel 1.5″ diameter piston rides on high grade .125″ thick Buna N O-Rings. Delivers the smooth engagement throughout the stroke of the lever, as well as the durability against the transmission fluid and silicone based brake fluid used in today’s hydraulic clutch systems
- By using 5/32″ diameter stainless steel, aerospace derived, ball plugs in conjunction with some crafty precision machining, the fluid can be routed to the outside of the piston, while the banjo fitting remains right near the gasket surface

- Installation on 1993-2006 FLH/FLT models requires either the stock cast engine oil spout to be trimmed to clear the bleeder screw or installation of the BAKER Function Formed FLH/FLT Engine Oil Spout.
- Banjo Bolt is 3/8-24 thread (provided by customer) bleeder screw is 1/4-28 thread (included in the kit)
- Designed to work with DOT 5 Brake Fluid
- Designed to work with the stock sized 11/16″ diameter piston clutch lever assembly or an aftermarket equivalent.
- Transmission oil level is checked with the bike on the kick stand, and threading the dipstick into the side cover.
